In Defense of Donald Sterling

 photo images1_zpsb4b992e9.jpg

Everyone is all up in arms about what Donald Sterling, something-something-i-hate-basketball of the Clippers, said and/or did. Everyone is screaming racist like they've never seen one before. Apparently, Mr. Sterling is some kind of isolated incident of ignorance and he should be bullied and beaten and fined and fired for his thoughts. I think I might be the only person in the world that thinks this is...funny. At least, according to the news reports on the incidents and the reactions of people around me.

Donald Sterling paying a fine isn't going to make him think any differently. His network of 'friends' who didn't want his mistress being seen around black people aren't going to change. The beat will go on like it always has. Nothing changes, nothing gets better, humans are still super selfish and super stupid and I still lament being one of them. We are capable of great beauty. We have created things from our imaginations that are stunning and magnificent--whether it's a story or an airplane. We have such tremendous potential, and we are squandering it.

I don't give a fuck what Donald Sterling thinks of this race or that one. I don't even care that his filthy rich friends share his view. This is all commonplace for me. Next month, some other asshole will express something similar to what Donald Sterling said and everybody will freak out about that too.

Hell, if I was one of them, I'd say something nasty just to see everyone running around gaping and staring and pointing and acting like damn fools for a little while. Wanna see my players change their socks from white to black and turn the jerseys that I payed for inside out in ineffective "protest".

Meanwhile, what I stand for would still be firmly in place. Nothing really changes for me. I'm out a little pocket change out of the bazillions that are my assets (but I am the ignorant fool laughing stock...riiiiiight). A few people give me the stink-eye every now and then but not really as I have enough money to set them on fire in the streets and not do a day in jail. And I had a good time...

Somewhere in Africa, a truck pulled up to a boarding school, several trucks in fact, and a group of men got out. They walked into that school with guns and took up to three hundred female children. They burned the school down and loaded these young girls into those trucks and they disappeared into the mist.

Do we think they took those kids to Candyland? Are those children, right now, sipping on honey-lemon rivers and eating cotton candy clouds in various shades of brilliant rainbow color? Is their laughter echoing through the boughs of licorice trees and chocolate mountains?

No, those kids are being raped and sold and tortured and abused. While everyone is worrying about what Donald Sterling thinks about in his off time with his mistress, children are being abused. Everyone knows it happened, and no one cares.

That is what is really wrong with the world. What Donald Sterling said is a big deal. The rape of  three-hundred little African girls is not.

Why pretend to get angry with Donald Sterling when, at least a part of the best of you, must share his belief about the subject he was ranting about?

They say the proof of the pudding is in the taste. Let's see if that's true, shall we?

Mr. Sterling said: "Fuck 'em" ...

I can assure you that is what is happening to those missing children, so he's right there.

Mr. Sterling said: "Feed 'em" ...

Well, if you buy a little slave girl, you kinda have to feed her, right? At least enough to keep her alive so you can honor Mr. Sterling's first thoughts on the subject.

Mr. Sterling said: "Just don't promote them" ...

Granted, he was talking about Instagram and Facebook and what not, however, this still holds true. There hasn't been a lot of news coverage on these missing children. Outside of the local police force in the place where they were taken from, no one is really looking for them. Isn't that a lack of promotion on the scale of what Donald-Dear was talking about?

So, where is he wrong? What did he say that was incorrect? Why is everybody yelling up at his lofty and palatial mansion again?

If the Clippers really want to protest the commonplace thoughts in Donald Sterling's head, I have an idea that would work. At least I think so. How about each one of the players donate ten thousand dollars to hire a small band mercenary thugs to go in there and get (at least some, but hell, ONE of) those kids?

How about all the players on all the basketball teams?

In retaliation for Donald-Dear's so-called immoral, disgusting, totally-out-of-the box-oh-shock-oh-horror thoughts...

I have no idea how much a small band of mercenary thugs costs, and the idea is probably ludicrous. But it's a start to thinking in the right direction, and it would definitely make something Mr. Sterling said incorrect, because, honestly, as it stands right now, the man is fucking right.

Leave him alone.

A Haunted House 2: Review

 photo HauntedHouse2_zps9c53d971.jpg

I've read as many reviews for this movie as I could stand. In those reviews, I kept running into words like: crude, low-brow, and even minstrel show. Apparently, these movies are homophobic. Apparently, these movies are misogynistic. And, apparently, I am from a different planet than most of the people that reviewed this. I brook no homophobia. I watched Kevin Hart one time and he made a gay joke about his son that was so disgusting, he was rendered instantly invisible to me as a human being. I am female, so it stands to reason that I would be against misogyny. And I am. Captain Caveman is not for me. Therefore, in reading the reviews, I was shocked to learn that I thought they were absolutely full of shit in regards to this movie.

Malcolm Johnson (Marlon Wayans) has a demonically possessed girlfriend named Kisha (Essence Atkins). In the last movie, I thought she killed him, Paranormal Activity style, however, Kisha is still around and still possessed by the demon. Malcolm has moved on with his life after their last encounter. He has a new girlfriend and is taking care of that woman's children. The drama begins almost immediately. Kisha wants revenge for being left for dead. The children are in various states of possession and no one believes Malcolm about the demon that is haunting his life.

As a person who has watched every horror movie that this parody spoofed (as well as every horror movie that I can get my hot little hands on, bad or good), I can honestly say that I enjoyed this film and the one before it. I'm going to say that I don't understand the negativity that is attached to these films via these reviews. It's just easier than trying to sort out the nearly vehement hatred I saw in some of these reviews... not for the movie itself, but for the actor/creator. It's a strange kind of hatred too. The kind of hatred that admits the brilliance of the man because it can't be denied, but will say he hosts a minstrel show in the same breath.

The reviews state flaws in the film like consistency of story as a draw back. The fact is, the stories is a mishmash of a lot of stories, and, personally, I found the mash well done and quite consistent. The reviews state their horror at the deaths of Malcolm's dogs, Shiloh 2 and Shiloh 3, as if the actor slaughtered the animals for real and on screen. The reviews talk about how crude the scene with Abigail the Doll was. One reviewer even stated that Malcolm 'violated' the doll. And I'm thinking: isn't that thought, in itself, a little biased and extreme? And some reviewers, going back to the first A Haunted House, want to complain about the fact that the ghost raped Malcolm and link it, somehow, to some inherent homophobia of the actor. The ghost in that movie raped Kisha too. Granted, rape isn't funny. I see an argument there, but it's not the argument being used.

Is there something I am missing?

Perhaps I am crude. Perhaps low-brow. Perhaps I like minstrel shows. But I don't think so.

I don't even like most comedy. I bootleg or digital download everything, because, mostly, it's all the same old shit, revamped, re-polished and re-uploaded onto the big screen.

Then again, I enjoy The Hangover movies. A lot of the things people are saying about the  A Haunted House Series could be said of The Hangover movies, but aren't. The Hangover movies, most certainly, aren't a minstrel show, for example. But a memorable part of that series is my in-depth view of Chow's dick. [I thank him. My favorite character bar none].

Want to discuss crudeness and misogyny in The Hangover? Want to discuss a naked man bursting out of the trunk of a limo shouting, "You won't rape on me!!!" to a bunch of other men as an example of homophobia?

Wanna be even a little bit fair?

No?

Didn't think so.

Laughed my crude, misogynistic ass off.
Hell, I actually PAID to see it.

This is that shit I 'DO' like..."Yup It's Raining Men".

I don't know why I'm posting this. It's probably because it made me smile. I loved it. And if I see something really good I just want to share it. Besides, if I put it here, it'll be easy to find--so my motivations are purely selfish somewhere in there:)

Affluenza and the Rise of the Phoenix (Again)

"The sun is on my side
Take me for a ride
I smile up to the sky
I know I'll be alright"

Pocket Full Of Sunshine--Natasha Bedingfield

Somewhere in these ramblings I said that I'd love forever the person that would write me a poem. I really thought no one would hear me. I do ramble for the sake of rambling. This blog has become more ramble-spot than anything, which is why I don't seek bullshit professionalism and (pretty much) say whatever I want. However, someone did send me a poem. The poem came from Alabama (shudders). What is it with my being surrounded by places like Alabama and Tennessee and such, lately? I don't have anything against them, I suppose. The places. Many of the people, though, have a thought process that is alien to me. I can't waste time on people who seem to want to run around telling others that they are somehow innately 'less' for this reason or that reason--whether its the bible, racial make-up, or sexuality. It's all the same pain for everybody, no matter how the world's been set up. And no matter the rules put in place to assure that some stay tormented and on the bottom so the one's on top can feel a little bit better about their own shit.
Anyway, as an honest person, I have to say that the poem was written rather beautifully. I sincerely wish that the person who wrote it had taken the time to extend their efforts toward something more positive. Beautiful things, wrapped in ugliness, are eclipsed by that ugliness. The poem was about a phoenix. We all know phoenixes rise. It is their sole talent. The phoenix in this poem had risen again only to be slaughtered again. It was going to do this over and over. Rise and die. Rise and be murdered. An endless loop. Forever.
Deep shit, huh?
The poem faulted the phoenix for being mundane about its necessity to rise. I fault those who slaughter the creature every time it extends its wings and tries to fly. To the poet, I say, "Tell your  psychopathic, murderous, pompous, asshole, friends to leave the fucking thing alone."
But thank you for thinking of me.

____________

A while ago, I wrote about a new word. The new word was Affluenza. I said that we'd be hearing that word again because, frankly, the world has changed. Recently, Robert Richards IV (heir to the DuPont fortune) was convicted of raping his daughter and infant son repeatedly. There's some blah blah blah about what, exactly, he penetrated the little girl with, but he did penetrate her with something. It's still rape whether you use your fingers or a baseball bat, right? I believe this kid was three years old, the female. The boy was simply called 'the infant". Billionaire Richards screwed his kids and got caught.
The judge presiding over his trail said: "He will not do well in prison" and gave Billionaire Richards probation (and some rehabilitation) only for the years of abuse his children suffered at his hands. Who the fuck "does well" in prison? Does anybody who goes to prison do well there? The people who rape kids go to prison and they are not expected to do well. It's long been known that the rehabilitation rate in prison is, pretty much, zero. So, why does anybody go to prison anymore? And why does Billionaire Richard's child molesting ass get to sit at home when other people have to be incarcerated for the same crime?

Affluenza. Say it with me. Roll the Z...

...And let's do the math...
You can kill people if you're wealthy and get away with it. You can rape your kids if you're wealthy and get away with it. Now, none of this is exactly new, but, before, it was all cloak and dagger--deals done in the dark and shit like that. Currently, this stuff is right in your face, shiny new word and all.

Affluenza + Victim = No Crime.

Add this to the fact that poor people are being locked up at an accelerate rate in America to be the fuel for the private prisons of this nation, and shit's looking pretty damn bleak while we all stare at our overpriced Iphone5's and play Flappy Bird. The cops are beating the living shit out of people and raping people and, generally, running amok on the poor. Did anyone see that poor tiny young bystander at the University of Arizona? Was she even five-foot-two? Did she weigh a hundred pounds soaking wet? A riot cop barreled into that poor tiny woman like she was William the Refrigerator Perry and he had to take her down in order to score. What was she doing? Walking. Talking to someone on her cell phone. She hadn't done anything. Personally, it was stunning for me in this case to see a grown ass man so ready to hit a woman with such force in the first place. Once upon a time, behavior like that would have been frowned upon. Those days are gone.

I do not expect a perfect world. My answer to the ancient question of whether people are basically good or basically bad, is the latter. More than anything, I think most people are fucking stupid, lazy, and have little to no empathy anymore. Whatever's easier is the way to go. Believe whatever the television tells you to believe, etc. Do. Not. Think.

The police shot a homeless man recently. He was probably schizophrenic and needed to be in one of those mental institution we don't have anymore. They told him to put his knife down. He refused. They shot him a truly ridiculous Terminator-Schwarzenegger amount of times with automatic rifles, and when he went down they sicced a German Shepard on him for awhile to make sure that he didn't get back up and come at one of the ten or so of them with that little knife he had. Of course, he couldn't do that because after about twenty or so rounds of heavy artillery, he was, very much, dead.

It didn't have to be me to understand that what happened there was wrong as hell. I don't have to have a degree in psychology to know that there was something mentally wrong with that man and he needed help, that he felt threatened and afraid. All he had wanted to do was sleep somewhere where someone couldn't hurt him. And he died for the audacity 'not to have' in a world where what you have makes you more or less a human being.

And it's getting worse and worse and worse and worse...

We have lords and ladies people, an upper class that is not bound by the same rules as they rest of us. They're coming out of the shadows and stepping into the light, done with pretending that equality-bullshit-dream.

Our prison plantations are flourishing.

And Flappy Bird on my six-hundred dollar phone is still fun as fuck...I have forty six. What's your score?

A Beautiful Writer With No Name

A Beautiful Writer With No Name

...and no I'm not talking about myself this time.

It's so rare anymore that I find something that I don't have to have to read with a vague disinterest that I just have to remark on this incredible person with no name and rage about the fact that I don't know who they are. They wrote in 2005 only. They wrote under a category called manga. And the stories that they wrote kept me up for hours. This NEVER happens anymore. Their characterization was beautiful. I fell in love with the people they created. Their main antagonist was so sexy that when they killed him (as much as he deserved to die) I felt a pang of regret. I'm still feeling it.

It was a dirty little story that I devoured with the most relish, but there were others that weren't so dirty and were just as beautiful. This person was young and talented. Their work was rich and gorgeous. And I have to herald that nameless ass that just disappeared when there was no more to read. They were writing yaoi and they wrote it right. I am lamenting the loss of them.

It hurts

I haven't found anyone like them to read in so long its not even funny. For a person that always ate books voraciously, stumbling upon them was one of the best thing that has happened to me in 2014. And I'm angry that they're gone (from my greedy self anyway), but glad they left those stories behind for me to find. Grateful. And happy for the interruption in the grindy, ever-boredom that is my life. That is, after all, what a good story is for.

I hope that this person realized that they were talented and moved on and beyond the handle that they used to post their stories. I hope that they continued to write and I just don't know who they are so that there is a chance to find them again. What clues they left behind, I definitely went looking through--but, in the end, there was nothing more. And I am kind of sad about it in a selfish, needy, way--but happy that I got to read the main story and the little clips of others that were available.

What is beautiful, truly beautiful, is not always that which is promoted. Sometimes there's just this little flicker of absolute beauty, and, if you're lucky, you find it. That is what happened to me tonight. -Bounces-

__________

Recently, I came across Harlan Ellison's, I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. This was a hellova story. It fits into a different category for me than the above because love is love and fucked up sci-fi is ... fucked up sci-fi. I prefer the love, but I was into horror and science fiction before I had the remotest concept of what love could possibly be. I must admit, Ellison rocked me too. The title of the story alone is a nightmare, honestly. The rest of it did not disappoint.

I also saw Ellison on Youtube saying something about the fact that the last person paid in the creative process of bringing works to the masses is the writer. Having dealt with the things that I have dealt with while attempting to be paid for the work I do, I must say that I found it amazing that someone like him would encounter a problem like this. He screamed: PAY THE WRITER with a passion I could appreciate.

It amazes me how quickly other people tend to think that the things you create belong to them--that they have some right to make money off the work you sweat and bleed over.

We live in a cruel world where people take the things you can't protect. In a world where a beautiful voice can be silenced by those with more power--at a misbegotten whim. There is no wrong or right, only MIGHT

And that might will sell the same old shit like it's candy and the people will love it because they'll think that's all there is, that same old story with a brand new cover.

__________

Reading truly good shit puts me in a strange mood. Seeing that writer disappear though, even if its only a mirage and they went on to write great things that I am somehow missing, upsets me. I suppose some of the reason may have to do with The-Invisible-Raquel-Trick, but, mostly, it's because I'd like to read more of that person.

Anyway, I am currently RPing in order to tell tales that get immediate reaction to the things I write. Unfortunately, the place where I am RPing at is...less than satisfying. The level of the mind game is about a quarter of what I'm used to, and my satisfaction with the game is less than that. I'm going to have to pull up stakes and find a new home for my little rapists...I mean, characters. Mind chess isn't any fun if the other players are...slooow

And for the nefarious fuckers that stalk this blog--mind chess isn't any fun if you've got all the means to tip over the table and destroy the whole of the game either. But, then, we aren't playing chess, are we? You're just beating me like a runaway slave until I shatter.

In a world that stole the children of the Native American's and put them in Boarding Schools designed to, very literally, rape their culture right out of them...In a world where people were enslaved and treated like shit and are blamed everyday for being the victims of the abuses still visited upon them...

...I suppose I can't complain, eh?

That's just the way it is

You gotta operate the easy way
I made a G today
But you made it in a sleazy way
Selling crack to the kids
I gotta get paid

That's just the way it is.

Michael Dunn, Jordan Davis, and what Florida represents

America is a racist country. Its foundation is built on racism. It seems to me that people here like pretending, but we are not fooling the rest of the world. This is the 'greatest country in the world" but for the overwhelming, hideous racism that is built into its very fabric. It's in the air we breath and the food we eat. It hangs like a pall over everything we say and do. And we pretend it isn't there. It is a poison--but its not the kind of poison that kills outright on most occasions. It's the kind of poison that makes us sick and mean. It stunts our growth as human beings. It keeps us from being all that we could be.

Michael Dunn killed Jordan Davis in cold blood. Michael Dunn shot into a car of unarmed black teenagers and was trying with his heart and soul to kill them. You do not shoot into a car full of people for any reason other than to kill. It really is that simple and it would be that simple in any place other than America. Let me correct that: I'm sure there is some shit-hole country where things like this happen. But I am just as sure that that country does not go around proclaiming itself to be "the greatest country in the world". In Africa, for example, they are killing gay people. In India, they are raping women like it's a sport with a orgasmic prize at the end. Russia has lost its fucking mind. While these countries are, likely proud of themselves, they do not go around policing other countries and they do not claim to be the "best" country--as if such a thing exists.

America has a racial problem that it will not face, black president or not. In America, something beautiful and beneficial to the world can be utterly destroyed because the creator of that beautiful thing is not the right color. People ignore this here. They pretend like they don't see it. Anyone that speaks about it is a "race baiter" or a whiner. In America, we shame people out of saying anything about the injustices they face because of the color of their skin.

A man shoots into a car of unarmed children and is not convicted of murder in Florida (Michael Dunn). A man stalks and kills a seventeen year old boy and becomes a "celebrity" in America (George Zimmerman). Its an unspoken sickness that we have, and it goes wholly unacknowledged for the absolute plague that it is.

Like a good Bugs Bunny cartoon, it's OPEN SEASON on young black males in Florida. The Stand Your Ground Law that Florida has only become slightly ashamed of isn't used in trials--but it is read to the jury and, from my limited understanding of the law it reads something like this:

You can pick a fight with a person. If said person says anything or does anything you don't like, you can kill them.

This is, of course, not how its read from a legal standpoint, but it is how it IS.

I don't like my neighbor. I go over to his house and start a fight with him while carrying a concealed weapon. He shouts to loudly at me or gives me any reason at all to claim that he was aggressive toward me and I blow his brains out and go home and eat Cheerios until the cops come and give me a cursory tour of the police station. Of course, there will be a trial and I'll have to lie about his brandishing his fists and such, but, in the end, I'll likely go home afterwards, especially if the dead man's a black man and I'm not one.

On what planet do you shoot into a car full of unarmed people, kill one of them, and not get convicted of murder? What was confusing for this jury? The fact that the murderer said the victim had a gun, but no gun was found? The fact that Jordan Davis refused to turn his 'thug' music down and that's just rude? Are we killing people for being rude now? Because rude, to me, is going over there and bothering Davis about his music in the first place. Don't like the music you have to listen to for the five minutes it takes you to get gas? Leave. Life is simple like that.

There will be a retrial on this one, because Zimmerman's photo ops are an embarrassment and there just HAS to be. However, what worries me is that there has to be a retrial in the first place on such a case as this. Everything else they convicted him for means nothing to me. What means something is the fact that Jordan Davis had a life and was a person. Michael Dunn took his life. The point that needs to be made here is that Jordan Davis' life had MEANING. And to take his life is a crime worthy of punishment.

Florida's Stand Your Ground Law is unjust and an invitation to murder. As it was used in this trial, it was a invitation to confuse the average citizen into thinking that had Dunn armed with a gun felt his life was in danger in the altercation he started, he had a right not to back down and could 'defend' himself.

Anyone else tired of hypocrisy and double standards? Do I even have to question what would have happened if the color line had been reversed? How speedy the trial? How deep the hole under the prison?

No.

I don't.

'Murrica.

Shameless, in bitter reality...

__________

My sexy Tre Melvin made a statement last night about having come out as bisexual, how positive most of his feedback was, and how surprising that was to him. He also made a statement about something someone said that wasn't so positive. As a matter of fact, it was rather vicious. It was something about not being able to picture him -- I'm going to put it the nice way-- sexually with another man.

Somewhere in there, there was the thought that he was somehow less of  a man because he liked other men--which is absolute bullshit, but I'm not even going there right now. I'm not going to repeat his thoughts on the subject either because you should really find his Youtube channel and get to know his wonderfulness. But I have to say that I feel him in that non-personal way that you feel somebody that thinks like you.

Here's a big:

"Bitch, mind your business."

...from me to  her though. Heartfelt and sincere.

__________

It's the bane of human existence that so many people have such a hard time doing just that. Mr. Dunn couldn't mind his business. Mr. Zimmerman couldn't mind his business. And it's never for the right things.

The foster care system is complete shit, for example. Kids are being abused, molested, and lost. In Florida, they've found the remains of fifty five bodies--children's bodies--between the ages of nine and under eighteen. The Arthur G. Dozier School For Boys existed for a hundred plus years and the people that ran it killed those children and many more who died of mysterious causes. The bodies that have been found are on no record. Nobody knows who these kids are. The school is notorious for allegations of brutal beatings, rapes, and murders that span a century of agony.

This nightmare place was just closed in 2011. No one has paid any prices for the horrible things that went on there.

This is some business that bears minding.  It bore minding twenty years ago, fifty years ago, and back to it's opening.

Why is it that the people that ran this kind of shit hole, that raped and tortured nine-year-old kids because they could...

...the kind of business that rarely gets minded?

...but loud 'thug' music, an adult's sexual preference for another adult, the color of a person's skin...

Judge 'em, and if you're feeling froggy, possibly kill 'em all.

Florida. Fix. Your. Shit.

Your priorities are all fucked up.

Eugh.

Love Song For A Vampire

Come into these arms again
And lay your body down
The rhythm of this trembling heart
Is beating like a drum
It beats for you
It bleeds for you
It knows not how it sounds
For it is the drum of drums
It is the song of songs...

Recently, there has been yet another push to end open internet. If this happens, small online business will cease to exist and your IP will be able to regulate what you watch. The internet is one of the last free things available for common people. Meaning, you have to pay for it, yes, but your mind is free as far as the worlds that roam while within it. Greedy, money-grubbing corporations seek to limit those freedoms in favor of a cash jackpot. Our internet is already slower than anybody else's and we pay more for the privilege.

Be mindful people, that those corporations that we've allowed to become known as people aren't people and everything they do is to make a serf out of you.

Youtube isn't what it was. The world is becoming smaller and meaner everyday. When was the last time you said something nice to somebody and they didn't try to fuck you for the compliment?

Keep the internet free so the little people have a chance, it's a small one, but it's a chance, to become something other than corrupt, mindless drones with the morality of alley cats.

That is all.
